WASTE MANAGEMENT POLICY

At SEICOM Degree College, waste management is an integral part of our commitment to environmental sustainability and campus cleanliness. The college employs effective strategies to minimize waste, promote recycling, and ensure proper disposal practices.

Key Practices

  1. Segregation of Waste:

    • Waste is segregated at source into biodegradable, recyclable, and non-recyclable categories.

    • Color-coded bins are placed across the campus for easy segregation.

  2. Recycling Initiatives:

    • Paper, plastic, and other recyclable materials are collected and sent to recycling units.

    • Used paper is repurposed for internal use wherever possible.

  3. Composting:

    • Biodegradable waste is processed in compost pits, producing organic manure for use in campus gardens.

  4. E-Waste Management:

    • A dedicated system is in place for the safe disposal of electronic waste, in collaboration with authorized e-waste recyclers.

  5. Awareness Programs:

    • Regular workshops and campaigns are held to educate students and staff on the importance of waste management and reduction.

  6. Minimizing Waste:

    • Efforts are made to minimize the use of single-use plastics and promote eco-friendly alternatives.

Impact

These initiatives ensure that SEICOM Degree College maintains a clean and sustainable campus, contributing positively to the environment while instilling responsible practices among its community.
